The fourth full week of the 2013/14 season was seven days of big news at the Club, which we detail below:

MONDAY JULY 22nd

Club captain Carles Puyol expains the reactions of the squad to Tito Vilanova's departure.

On the same morning, Eric Abidal was back at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper to visit his ex-teammates and stand by them at such a difficult time.

TUESDAY JULY 23rd

The Club announce their new first team coach for the next two seasons will be the Argentinean Tata Martino.

WEDNESDAY JULY 24

The 2013/14 kicks off for Barça with a pre-season friendly in the Allianz Arena. Pep Guardiola's strong Bayern team won 2-0.

Leo Messi spoke about the arrival of the new bossafter coming through 45 minutes against the European Champions with no signs of teh injury problem that ruled him out at the end of last season.

FRIDAY JULY 26th

New boss Tata Martino  signs a two-year contract at the Club offices.

In his first press conference as FC Barcelona Coach, Tata Martino is accompanied by Club Vice-President  Josep Maria Bartomeu and Director of Football Andoni Zubizarreta.

Squad train in Oslo  for the team's seond pre.season game. The squad flew straight to Norway from Germany to await their new coach Tata Martino.

SATURDAY JULY 27th 

The squad and coaching staff greet new coach Tata Martinez in Oslo on the morning of their game against Vaterenga.

Barça comfortably win their second pre-season game (0-7), watched from teh stands by their new coach.
