  • Claudio Bravo came up through the ranks at  Colo-Colo in Buin, Chile. He was originally a defender until he asked his coach for the chance to try out as goalkeeper instead.
  • He soon impressed in his new position, and made his Chilean League debut in 2002 at the age of 19.
  • In June 2006 he signed for Real Sociedad, where he made his debut on October 22, 2006 in a 0-0 draw with Mallorca.
  • In the 2009 season, he won the second division Zamora Trophy for the best goalkeeping record.
  • On February 14, 2010 Bravo scored a free kick for Real Sociedad against Gimnàstic Tarragona.
  • He first captained the Chilean national team in 2008, following the retirement of Marcelo Salas.
  • Ever since he appeared for Chile at the South Africa World Cup in 2010, Claudio Bravo has had a street named after him in his home city.
  • He was the only player to appear in every one of Chile’s qualifying matches for South Africa 2010, and also started all four of his country’s games in the finals.
  • On November 28, 2010, against Sporting Gijon, Claudio Bravo made his 100th appearance for Real Sociedad. Darko Kovačević, Valeri Karpin and Meho Kodro were the only foreigners to have reached that mark before him.
  • On September 10, 2013 Bravo surpassed Nelson Tapia’s tally of 74 international caps for Chile. He is now second in the all-time list behind Leonel Sánchez (84).
