Rafinha, Bojan and Deulofeu all get the job done

All three FC Barcelona players that are out on loan can feel pleased with what they have achieved this season. Celta have avoided relegation, Ajax won the league and Everton qualified for Europe

The three Barça players currently out on loan, Rafinha Alcántara (Celta), Bojan Krkic (Ajax) and Gerard Deulofeu (Everton), all have reason to be cheerful as their seasons draw to a close. All are playing regularly for their clubs, and have been getting goals that have helped their teams to achieve their objectives. Rafinha’s Celta have managed to stay clear of relegation, Bojan’s Ajax retained the Dutch league title, and Deulofeu’s Everton made it into the Europa League. We take a look at how their seasons are ending.

Rafinha (Celta): With 46 punts and two games to play, Celta Vigo are ninth and although they have no hope of making it into Europe, relegation is not an issue. The midfielder is the fourth most used player in his team (2,365 minutes) and had started five games in a row until last weekend against Osasuna, when Luis Enrique rested him because of a toe injury. He has scored four goals in a season that ends with glamorous fixtures against Real Madrid and Valencia.

Bojan (Ajax): In his first season in Holland, he has won the Eredivisie (which he celebrated with a special message on his shirt for Tito Vilanova). He has scored four goals in 24 games, 17 of which he started. He found the target last weekend in the 2-2 draw with NEC Nijmegen, and also scored in the cup quarter finals, although that tournament ended in a shock 5-1 defeat to PEC Zwolle in the final.

Deulofeu (Everton): The Premier League draws to a close this weekend and Everton, managed by Robert Martínez, are fifth. They have no hope of making it into the Champions League, but a Europa League berth is guaranteed. After recovering from a leg injury that brought him back to Barcelona for treatment, he returned to England where he has featured prominently, playing 24 matches and starting 9. He has scored three league goals and one in the League Cup.
