Barça are a goalscoring machine and more players are getting on the scoresheet this year than in the previous two seasons. The insatiable Leo Messi continues to be the team’s highest scorer, but other forwards are increasing their efficiency in front of goal. In the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons, the Argentine scored just under 50% of the team’s total goals, this season he’s netted 32%.

Plenty of goals to go around

Barça have scored 34 goals from 12 official matches this season. Here’s how the goal distribution breaks down: Messi 11 (32,3%), Pedro 5 (14,7%), Alexis 4 (11,7%), Neymar 3 (8,8%), Alves 2 (5,8%), Adriano 2 (5,8%), Xavi 2 (5,8%), Cesc 2 (5,8), Busquets 1 (2,9%), Bartra 1 (2,9%) and Piqué 1 (2,9%).

At this point in the 2012/13 season, of the 32 goals scored by the team, Messi had 46%, followed by Villa’s 9%, Tello’s 6%, Pedro’s 3% and Alexis’ 3%. The year before that, 2011/12, of the team’s 37 goals, Messi had 43%, Villa had 16%, Pedro had 8% and Alexis had 2%.
