Barça will arrive in Poland this Saturday for a friendly against Lechia Gdansk in the Super Mecz Trophy. The team will fly in and out on Saturday for their first game in Poland since the summer of 2008, when in Guardiola’s first season, the team beat Wisla Cracow 1-0 in the Champions League qualifying round.

That five year break has really built up expectation for this friendly and two of the FC Barcelona penyes – the Penya Barcelonista de Varsòvia and Fan Club Barça Polska have been much in evidence ahead of the game, which has been officially presented this Friday.

Impressive venue

Barça’s first pre-season friendly will be played at the PGE Arena Gdansk, opened in 2011 for the European Championships. The Spanish National team have played three times at the Stadium, although none of Barça’s Spanish internationals will be present on Saturday night. The Stadium has a 44.000 capacity and tickets are still available.
