Milan and Ajax lose; Celtic draw

It has been a disappointing weekend for Barça's Champions League opponents. Celtic only managed a draw and Ajax lost in injury time Wednesday's visitors to the Camp Nou, AC Milan, lost at home to Fiorentina (0-2) and are out of the European places

Barça’s Champions League opponents have had an awful weekend. AC Milan lost 2-0 at home to Fiorentina and are struggling in mid-table, seven points adrift of Europe. Ajax also suffered home defeat, 1-0 to Vitesse. And Celtic also dropped points at home after being held by Dundee United.

Loss at San Siro

Milan’s Serie A campaign is not getting any better. The side that face FCB at the Camp Nou on Wednesday were toppled by Fiorentina after being held by Lazio midweek. Balotelli, Virsa and Kaka were all played in an attack-minded formation, but Borja Valero was the hero of the day, supplying the pass for Vargas to score the first, and adding a goal of his home to settle the tie.

Ajax crash and Celtic held in Glasgow

Ajax also lost on home turf, 1-0 to a Vitesse who grabbed the winner in injury time. And although there were celebrations when Mulgrew bagged a late equaliser for Celtic at home to Dundee United, the Scottish Premiership leaders expected a lot more than one point out of this game.
