After winning the first leg of their Spanish Cup quarter final in Valencia 1-4 last week, Barça face Levante at the Camp Nou on Wednesday night with one foot in the semis, but boss Gerardo Martino made it clear this lunchtime that. “It’s still a game we have to be focussed on”. The boss also called on the fans to come along and get behind the team: “the supporters have always been a motivation for us. Right now the team is enjoying a great moment and playing at a high level. It’s a chance for us to put on a good show  - and also to talk just about football”.

Messi can play anywhere!

Leo Messi has been more of a play maker rather a goal scorer of late and the Argentinean was the subject of a number of questions at today’s press conference. Martino’s not worried in the slightest about Messi’s lack of goals and joked: "I’ve seen him play in all the positions in attack - one day he’ll play in goal and be great there too! If he’s closer to the box, he’ll pull defenders around and if he’s deeper, he’ll give passes for goals. That confuses our opponents”.

Neymar focussed

Martino also spoke about Neymar and the fact that the details of his contract had been revealed by the Club: “it does seem strange that figures of a player’s contract are given out. We hope this will be good for Barça, but it’s a new situation for us. He’s focussed on getting back to full fitness and returning to the team”

I've always thought Afellay was a great player

Finally, Martino referred to Cuenca and Afellay, revealing “I’ve always thought Afellay was a great player and I count on him”, whilst explaining that Cuenca: “has only been training with the rest of the group for three or four days now”.
