Leo Messi is pleased to be at the FIFA Ballon d'Or Gala

Leo Messi and the other finalists and managers held a press conference hours before the awards ceremony "For me it's a dream and a prize to be here for a seventh consecutive year," says Messi

The FIFA Ballon d’Or Gala will start in just a matter of hours. Starting half an hour late, at 3.35 PM CET,  the pre-Gala press conference with the Ballon d’Or finalists and the World Coach of the Year nominees got underway. Leo Messi, sitting between Cristiano Ronaldo and Frank Ribéry, said, “for me it’s a dream, it’s a prize in of itself to be here for a seventh consecutive year.”
I try to stay at the same level, both with Barça and with Argentina
The FC Barcelona forward was asked a total of six questions. Messi was clear that he prefers to focus more on the future than dwell on the past: “I don’t think about what I’ve done or won, I think about what’s to come. I try to stay at the same level, both with Barça and with Argentina. I’ve experienced great things with my team and individually, but now I’m focused on the future.”
In order to be successful you need to sacrifice, work hard and be a little lucky. It’s very complicated
When asked to explain the secret to his success, Messi said: “In order to be successful you need to sacrifice, work hard and be a little lucky. It’s very complicated. You have to be lucky enough at just the right time. You have to work hard for your dream.”

It also should be noted that the three finalists were quick to compliment and praise each other throughout the press conference. Only one, however, will win the 2013 Ballon d’Or.
