A tough opponent

Villarreal is a great team, one of the best in La Liga”.  “In the first half they only created one chance; a few more in the second half.  That’s normal.  Matches last 90 minutes”.

Looking ahead to the Getafe match, Alba is ambitious: “It’s vital that we end (the year) as leaders.  It’s a really tough league and Atlético Madrid have got themselves into the title race”.  “Having a five point lead over the third placed team is important”.

Champions League draw

The draw for the round of 16 of the Champions League is on Monday.  FC Barcelona is one of the top seeds and Alba is equally optimistic about Barça’s chances of making a good showing in Europe regardless of the opposition:  If we’re in good shape, we have a great chance”.

The full back is not too worried about this first match of the knockout stage but, “making it through to the final and winning it.  It’s a great trophy and I haven’t got it yet”.
