FC Barcelona will finally play the friendly against Lechia Gdansk on July 30. The original game was postponed last Friday when the Club and players decided, following Tito Vilanova’s decision not to continue as coach for health reasons, that it was not an appropriate moment to play a game of football.

Following the announcement of the postponement, the Club and promoters quickly set to work on finding a new date, and after looking into various alternatives, they have reached an agreement. The game will be played on July 30 at 20.45 at the same venue as originally scheduled, the PGA Arena inGdansk, with the capacity for 40,000 spectators.

The team’s Polish fans will this be able to enjoy the game with the added bonus that the later date means the team will be in a better physical shape - having already played in Oslo on 27th against Valerenga and in Munich on 24th against Bayern Munich.

The new match date also means that the international players that have been involved in the Confederations Cup will have returned that week to training. Should the coaching staff decide it is appropriate, some of them may travel to Poland, alongside those members of the squad initially selected for the game last Saturday.

The game’s promoters have created a website for purchasing tickets for the game - www.super-mecz.pl

The Club, coaching staff and players would like to express their satisfaction at a solution being found so quickly and thank the promoters PSP for their professional attitude at all times, as well as the understanding shown by the fans of the terrible blow which Tito Vilanova’s health enforced standing down has meant for the Club. The tickets bought for the previous date are to be valid for the match on July 30.
