Brazil and Croatia look for qualification in Group A; Spain look for their first three points

Brazil and Croatia hope to seal passage into the next round of the World Cup

The final round of World Cup group play will start this Monday. It will be an intense day for the blaugrana who feature in Group A, where Neymar and Dani Alves’ Brazil will take on Song’s Cameroon for the top spot of the group. Croatia, featuring Rakitic, will attempt to clinch a spot in the next stage of the competition when they take on Mexico. Spain, with Xavi, Alba, Busquets, Piqué, Iniesta and Pedro, will feature against Australia – neither team can advance to the next round.

The hosts eye the top spot

Brazil will try to secure the top spot of Group A when they host Cameroon at 10:00 PM CET at Estadio Nacional in Brasilia. The team led by Neymar and Dani Alves only need a draw, and can even lose, to finish first.

Cameroon will return home after the game against Brazil, and Alex Song will not feature against his Club teammates due to the red card he picked up against Croatia.

Fight for second place

Barça’s newest signing Ivan Rakitic is also close to getting into the Round of 16. Croatia will take on Mexico in a crucial match scheduled for 10:00 PM CET at Estadio Arena Pernambuco in Recife. Croatia have three points, while Brazil and Mexico have four.

Heads held high

The Spanish national team will bid farewell to the World Cup at 6:00 PM CET when they take on Australia at Estadio Arena in Curitiba. Vicente del Bosque is expected to make many changes to Spain’s starting line-up. Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Pedro and Jordi Alba and their countrymen will attempt to secure three points.
