FC Barcelona won the 48th edition of the Joan Gamper Trophy. The game marked the Camp Nou debuts of the new arrivals for the 2013/2014 season, the biggest win in a final of the tournament, 8-0, and several other pieces of trivia. Here’s a selection:

- Barça’s 8-0 win against Santos was the biggest ever in a Joan Gamper Trophy final. Back in 1984, Barça thrashed Boca Juniors in similar fashion (9-1), but that was in the semi-finals when the tournament was still contested by four teams.

· Barça have won 36 of the 48 editions of the Joan Gamper played to date.

· Argentinian Leo Messi was named Joan Gamper Trophy Man of the Match 2013.

· The Santos game was the first of the preseason for the Spanish internationals (Victor Valdés, Gerard Piqué, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Andrés Iniesta, Xavi, Pedro and Cesc Fàbregas) and also for Dani Alves, who also arrived late because of the Confederations Cup.

· It was the Camp Nou debut for new arrivals Tata Martino and Neymar, as well as Barça B players Bagnack and Dani Nieto.

· Leo Messi and Jean Marie Dongou are the top scorers of the preseason with three goals each.

· Apart from Messi and Dongou, no fewer than eight other players have found the net this preseason: Alexis Sánchez (2), Cesc Fàbregas (2), Adriano, Sergi Roberto, Cristian Tello, Jonathan Dos Santos, Joan Àngel Roman and Pedro.

· This was the second time Santos have played at the Joan Gamper. They were also here in 1998 when the game ended 2-2 and Barça took the trophy on penalties.

· This was the second win of the preseason, after losing 2-0 to Bayern, beating Valerenga 7-0 and drawing 2-2 in Poland against Gdansk.
