Deco, Sylvinho and Seydou Keita were the centre of attention before the Barça-Atlético Madrid match this Sunday at the Camp Nou. The three ex-FC Barcelona players were recognised by the fans and the Club moments before kickoff and during halftime.

The three Champions League winners, who watched the match from the Presidential box, were given a standing ovation from the fans when their presence was announced over the PA system by Manel Vich. At halftime, President Sandro Rosell and all the members of the Board of Directors welcomed Deco, Sylvinho and Keita to the Camp Nou.

Deco: “It was a very happy day”

Speaking to Barça TV and www.fcbarcelona.com, Deco indicated that “coming back to the Camp Nou is very impressive. I was very happy here. I wanted to play here when I was a child and I managed to do that.” He added: “I follow Barça from Brazil. The team is making history, they have the best player in the world, Leo Messi, and with him on the pitch everything is easier.”

Sylvinho also talked to Barça TV and www.fcbarcelona.com: “This is my first time back since I left, I’m very pleased and touched. You realize that time flies by.” When asked about his time at the Club, he said: “I’ve played for a lot of clubs, but the best years of my life were spent playing for FC Barcelona. It was marvelous.” Finally, Keita noted that the match against Atlético Madrid was important. He remains on a first-name basis with Barça’s first-team footballers.
