The players are continuing with their preparations for Sunday’s derby against Espanyol in the Cornellà-El Prat stadium (kick-off 8 pm). Saturday’s training session was held behind closed doors in the Camp Nou once more under the watchful eye of Tito Vilanova. The Barça manager has been in New York for the last few days to consult with his doctors.

Dani Alves and Adriano, who are still recovering from injury, were able to exercise with the main group while Abidal, with a small tear in the soleus of his left leg, worked out separately from the rest of the squad.

The only players missing from the session were Leo Messi, who had physio treatment, and Carles Puyol, who is continuing with his own recovery programme.
