Fabregas(2) and an injury time winner from David Villa saw Barça come away with a valuable win from the Sanchez Pijuan. Two down at the start of the second half and still losing with just a couple of minutes on the clock, Barça looked to be staring their first league defeat of the season in the face before Cesc levelled and then David Villa fired home the winner in injury time for a fantastic win against a dangerous Seville team who played out the last 20 minutes with ten men after Medel was sent off.

Trochowski puts Seville ahead

Barça were in charge from the off, with crisp passing and plenty of chances - Pedro and Messi both getting the chance to open the scoring in the first quarter of an hour- whilst Seville, with Spahic massive at the back, looking to hit the visitors on the break. That looked like their only route to a goal and on 25 minutes Trochowski rounded off a break with the opener after an attempted clearance from Mascherano dropped to him and he hit a low shot past Valdes.

Negredo and Navas looking sharp

1-0 was hardly a fair reflection of the first half hour of the game, but Seville were boosted by the goal and began to match Barça, with Negredo and Navas looking sharp as Seville’s hard work and intensity was also helped by some permissive refereeing.

From 1-0 to 2-1

At the start of the second half, Barça lost a ball in midfield and Negredo powered through the centre before chipping over Valdes to double Seville’s lead. Barça refused to give the game up though and a minute later Pedro shot just wide coming in from the right. Three minutes after that, Cesc got his first of the night with a brilliantly struck drive from the edge of the area and Barça were back in the match.

Medel off

Barça were now in the driving seat and with Tello coming on they concentrated much of their attacking intent down the left hand side of the attack, with the Barça B youngster, Alba and Pedro all creating chances. The visitors’ dominance increased after Medel was shown red on 70 minutes for striking Cesc on the head.

Cesc and Villa strike late

But for all their chances and dominance the goal wouldn’t come for Barça– until Cesc was put in by Messi with just a couple of minutes left and the Argentinean then supplied David Villa who fired high and hard into the net on 93 minutes for a breathtaking finish for a victory that stretches their winning start to six games and lays down a marker for all their rivals for the title.
