Jordi Roura wasn’t surprised by the performance his men put in at Los Cármenes stadium this evening: “We suffered. It’s logical. We knew how difficult it is to win in this stadium. Granada are a very physical side and they had nothing to lose. The match became complicated [after they scored] and, once again, [my] players dug deep [to get the result].” He added: “We fought back from an adverse scoreline and the fact that we won three important points makes us happy.”

Messi and Alexis

When asked about Leo Messi, the Catalan said, “he’s broken another personal record. I don’t think he had scored against Granada. I also think that his 301 goals in official matches is incredible.” On Alexis Sánchez, Roura was clear: “he scored the other day and that helped him. This Saturday he had a few chances. The important thing is to encourage him and to help him not let his guard down. Our obligation is to help him.”

Lastly, despite the team’s enviable position in the table, Roura said that there is plenty of room for improvement: “there is always something that can be improved. This Saturday, for example, we perhaps needed to be more calm during certain parts of the match. Not conceding goals is another objective.”
