A crowded fixture list means that there’s no time for the players to sit back and enjoy the victory away to Deportivo. The squad reported for training at midday on Sunday with the aim of recovering from the Saturday’s evening’s game and preparing Tuesday’s CL group home match against Scottish champions Celtic.

Seven from the reserves

Apart from the senior players, a number of youngsters were drafted in from Barça B: Tello, Oier, Sergi Gómez, Sergi Roberto, Rafinha, Patric and Planas.

Carles Puyol and Dani Alves, injured against Benfica and Real Madrid respectively, were also present at the Club’s training grounds but exercised away from the main group. Gerard Piqué remained in the gym.

The build-up to Celtic FC

The next training session will be at 6 pm on Monday and the first fifteen minutes will be open to the media. A press conference featuring Tito Vilanova and Pedro will also be held at 5 pm. On Tuesday, the final training session will be at 12 noon. The match against Celtic, the third in the group stage so far, will kick off at 8.45 pm.
