FC Barcelona’s league title could be decided at the Camp Nou

Of the 12 games Barça still have to play in the league, seven are due to be played at the Camp Nou and if they can simply win all their home games and their direct rivals don’t win all of theirs, that’ll be enough to give them the title

Despite the defeat to Madrid on Saturday, Barça continue to enjoy a massive lead at the top of the league and their 22nd championship still depends on their own results. Seven of Barça’s next 12 league games will be played at the Camp Nou - a stat that means that by winning all of their home matches, they will be virtually certain of another league title.

Second place Atletico Madrid are 11 points behind Barça, with Real Madrid a further point behind and if Barça can put in anything close to the results they got in the first half of the season, there’ll be no way the league title can escape.

Barça’s next game is at home to bottom side Deportivo, after which Rayo are at the Camp Nou. The following week sees Barça visit Galicia to face Celta, who are also involved in the relegation battle, whilst the next week, Mallorca are at the Camp Nou, before two weeks later it’s Levante who are the visitors.

In the final few games, Barça make their last ever visit to San Mames, receive Betis and Malaga at the Camp Nou and close their league fixtures with a home game against Malaga. Before then, there’s a potentially decisive trip to the Vicente Calderon to face Atletico Madrid and the derby game against Espanyol. Despite the defeat to Madrid on Saturday, Barça continue to enjoy a massive lead at the top of the league and their 22nd championship still depends on their own results.
