- Barça keep their eight point lead over Real Madrid after seven league games.

- Despite the draw, Barça stay top of the table – level on points with Atletico Madrid on 19 points and ahead on goal difference.

- Barça fielded seven players who have played in midfield in their time: Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Mascherano, Adriano, Cesc and Messi.

- With Piqué finally ruled out, Adriano played at centre half alongside Mascherano – the first time the versatile Brazilian has started a game in that position.

- Barça enjoyed 64% of possession, against 36% for Real Madrid.

- Of the players who finished the game, Pedro was the Barça man who made the fewest successful passes -38 – whilst Xabi Alonso made the most for Madrid -35.

- The draw left Tito’s team one win short of equalling the record for the best league start in the Club’s history.

- Madrid’s equaliser meant that Barça just missed out on their fifth comeback from behind to win a game this season.

- Messi scored two more goals in a Clàsico, to take him to 17 in the fixture. The Argentinean has now bagged 12 this season, with eight league goals.

- Barça have never lost a game when Messi has scored two goals – having won 70 times when he’s got a brace and drawn three.

- Xavi has now played in 35 Clásico games, the same number as Santillana and one more than Casillas.
