Details of Vigo draw (2-2)

A look back at some of the most interesting stats from Saturday’s tied match at Celta Vigo

There were all kinds of curiosities surrounding Barça’s 2-2 draw in Galicia, especially concerning Leo Messi. Here we look at a selection of the best:

-Messi set a new record on Saturday night by scoring in his nineteenth consecutive league match. That’s the equivalent of scoring at least once in a whole half of the season.

-It was also the Argentinian’s 42nd goal of the Liga season, leaving him just eight short of his record-breaking tally of 2011/12 (50), and there are still another nine matches to play.

- Messi has also equalised Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for goals scored away from home, 23.

-Messi was FCB’s starting captain for the first time ever last night. He had been captain once before against Rayo Vallecano, but only in the second half.

- Barça had 70.85% of the possession and Celta the remaining 29,25% in the third draw of the campaign.

-Barça put together 905 moves in the match, almost double Celta Vigo’s total of 495.

-Although they weren’t enough to win the game, Barça made 563 good passes at Balaídos compared to just 206 from the Galicians.

-Following this draw, the most points Barça can possibly take from this championship is 102, which would mean winning all nine remaining fixtures.

- Marc Bartra started his first league game of the season on Saturday evening.
