Cristian Tello talked to the press after the first team's training session this afternoon. The young forward is pleased with Tito Vilanova’s return to Barcelona: “I’m very pleased with his return. We need him. He’ll ease in to his time with the team. The important thing is that he recovers well.” He added, “his absence has been noticeable because the presence of the head manager is always very important. We were very united when he was gone.” The forward also had words for Roura: “he’s done a spectacular job. He’s continued on with the team and he’s delivered as the acting manager.”

Tello then went on to highlight the importance of preparing well for the team’s upcoming matches. The first one will be away to Celta. “We are very focused on the league. Each match is a final for us, and we want to win as many points as possible. Celta are fighting for their lives and they will be a difficult rival to defeat,” he said.

Champions League showdown with PSG

When asked about UEFA’s decision to reduce Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s ban, Tello said that “it’s a decision made by UEFA. PSG were already a dangerous rival and even more so with Ibrahimovic on the pitch. They have a great team, both on defence and going forward. Their counterattacks are devastating.” He added: “Regardless, we won’t change our style of play.”

Pleased with his personal performances

Lastly, when asked about his current form, Tello stated that he’s returned from the international break in top shape, and he’s pleased with the playing time he’s been given so far the season. “In general I’m very pleased with my season. I want to thank the managers and players for their confidence in me, I want to continue learning from them,” concluded Tello.
