Celta's 60-year history of negative results at the Camp Nou

History has shown that matches between Barça and Celta have almost always favoured the Catalan team’s interests. FC Barcelona have only lost once at home to Celta. It was in the 1941/42 season when the Galicia-based team beat Barça by 0-2 for the first and only time at the Camp Nou. The other matches, the first in 1939, have resulted in 35 victories and 10 draws for the Blaugrana.

Three victories and one draw in the last decade

Celta haven’t had the best of times in their visits the Camp Nou. In the 2002/03 season Barça hosted the Galicians in the last week of the Liga. The team managed by Radomir Antic won by 2-0. Juan Sorín and Saviola were the men that fired past Pinto, who was a Celta player that season, for Barça’s goals.

A year later, Cetla managed to earn a point from their visit to Barcelona (1-1). Philip Cocu brought Barça level with 20 minutes left in the game after Jesuli scored the opener in the first half. José Manuel Pinto didn’t feature in the match against the Blaugrana.

In the 2004/05 season, the team managed by Rijkaard brushed Celta aside with two goals from Samuel Eto’o. Pinto started in goal for the visiting side.

The last time Celta visited the Camp Nou was in the 2006/07 season. Barça managed to win the match comfortably by 3-1 thanks to goals from Saviola, Ronaldiho (penalty) and Giuly.

Last year in the Mini Estadi

Barça B hosted Celta last season at the Mini Estadi. The reserve side beat the visitors by 2-1 thanks to a brilliant performance from the now Red Bull Salzburg player, Jonathan Soriano, who scored two goals.
