Barça established a new unbeaten record in La Liga thanks to the solid work of its defenders, who not only defended Valdés goal brilliantly but they also scored two thirds of the team’s goals. FC Barcelona's standout players against Celta were Víctor Valdés, Adriano, Jordi Alba and Villa.

With 0-0 on the scoreboard, the Catalan keeper saved a one-on-one with Iago Aspas – Celta’s centre forward – to keep Barça in the game. Without a doubt, he was the anchor in Barça’s defence this evening.

Adriano: The Brazilian continues to be on target in front of goal. The defender netted his third goal of the season this evening in addition to performing well in Barça's three-man defence. Adriano scored the first goal of the night after a beautiful play with Pedro on 21 minutes. Unfortunately, it wasn’t all good news for the Brazilian as he had to abandon the pitch to due to injury.

Jordi Alba: The left back’s pace is essential both when it comes to containing counter attacks and when Barça pushes forward. The defender has scored three goals this season and by the looks of it he won't stop threatening Barça's rivals anytime soon. The Catalan scored the team’s third goal after an exquisite triangulation with Villa and Iniesta.

Villa: The Spanish forward is back to full form and he’s proving it game after game. In addition to scoring his third goal in as many games, El Guaje was fundamental in Barça’s attacks. On 25 minutes he broke the deadlock with Celta after a brilliant pass from Andrés Iniesta and in the second half he assisted Jordi Alba for the 3-1.
