Saturday night’s game was Cesc Fàbregas’ best for Barçain goal scoring terms and the first time he’d ever bagged a hat trick and he was proud to pick up the ball after the game, with three goals and three points for the team – this was a great confidence booster ahead of Wednesday night’s clash with PSG.

Curiously for such a high scoring team, Cesc’s hat trick was the first scored by a Barça player since Seydou Keita in 2009. Exceptimng Leo Messi that is – the side’s leading scorer who is battering records week in week out. Keita’s goals came at the Camp Nou against Zaragoza in a game Barça won 6-1 - Zlatan Ibrahimovic (2) and, of course, Leo Messi chipping in with the others.

Messi has scored three or more goals in a game an astonishing 19 times - four times scoring four goals and against Bayer Leverkusen in the 2011/12 Champions League he went one better with five!
