Abidal welcomed to Balaídos with a standing ovation

This Saturday Éric Abidal received a standing ovation from the fans at Balaídos when he took part in the pre-match warmup session with his teammates. The Frenchman, who underwent liver transplant surgery this season, was named to the first team for the first time since he given the green light to return to competitive play on February 21.
