The players enjoyed a rest day on Sunday following their win over Llevant, but they are back in training this Monday evening ahead of Tuesday's Champions League game against BATE Borissov. With top place already secured, Guardiola's squad's main focus is on the game against Real Madrid on Saturday night, immediately after which they will fly out to Japan for the Club World Cup.

The first training session of the week will take place this evening at the Camp Nou. At 18.15 Josep Guardiola and Pedro will hold a press conference and then the squad will train on the Camp Nou pitch at 19.00 in a session which will be open to the media for the first quarter of an hour.

Two groups

For Monday's training, Guardiola has called up Pinto, Piqué, Fontàs, Maxwell, Thiago, Pedro and Cuenca, as well as B team members Oier, Montoya, Bartra, Muniesa, Sergi Gómez, Rafinha, Dos Santos, Deulofeu, Riverola, Sergi Roberto and Femenía. As usual ahead of a home Champions League game, the squad will stay overnight at the Hotel Mandarín.

There will be two separate sessions on Tuesday, with the first, behind closed doors at the Ciutat Esportiva, scheduled at 10.30 for Valdés, Alves, Puyol, Abidal, Mascherano, Keita, Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, Cesc, Messi, Alexis and Villa. In the second, set to start at 12.30, the players who trained at the Camp Nou on Monday will have a final work out before the Champions League game and then lunch and relax together before heading off for the stadium ahead of kick off.

On Wednesday, the squad will train at 11.00 at the Ciutat Esportiva, when preparations will really get under way for Saturday's game. Thursday – a public holiday in Spain – has in principal been set aside as a rest day and the squad will then report back to the Camp Nou at 18.00 on Friday for training, followed by a Pep Guardiola press conference.

Flight from Madrid to Japan

The squad will travel to Madrid on Saturday morning, leaving the stadium at 10.00, and will stay in a hotel in Madrid once they arrive in the Spanish capital until just before kick off( set for 22.00). Once the game is finished, the squad will not return to Barcelona, but catch a plane out from Madrid  to Japan, where they will be playing in the Club World Cup next week.
