The San Siro is familiar to players and fans alike. The stadium brings both good and bad memories to Barça fans. It was at the San Siro that the Barça side managed by Frank Rijkaard beat AC Milan in the semi-final of the 2005/06 Champions League, it was also the stadium in which Barça fell 3-1 to Inter during in the semi-final three years later. This Tuesday, Barça held their final training session before tomorrow’s game, a game arguably less important than the ones previously mentioned, but one that will decide if Barça will have home-field advantage in the next round of the Champions League.

Light training session

The 21 available players, 17 first team players and 4 Barça B players (Cuenca, Bartra, Dos Santos and Oier), trained this morning at the San Siro. The session, like any training session before a Champions League game, was fairly light and served as an opportunity for the players to get accustomed to the San Siro pitch.

After the training session, the team was taken to the Rosa Grand hotel in downtown Milan, where they will stay until tomorrow’s Champions League match.

Guardiola will not be able to call on four first team players for tomorrow’s match against Milan. Ibrahim Afellay, Adriano Correia and Andrés Iniesta, will miss the match due to injury; Dani Alves is suspended.
