Here we've made a selection of the most interesting facts thrown up by FC Barcelona's victory against Sevilla (0-2).

- Lionel Messi scored his 150th league goal for Barça, overtaking former Real Madrid striker Raul to become the youngest player in La Liga history to reach this total.

- It was the seventh victory in a row for Pep Guardiola's players; five in La Liga and two in the Champions League.

- Xavi Hernández continued to enjoy a rich vein of goal scoring form with his expertly taken free kick.  He's now scored nine in the league – on a par with Cesc- comfortably ahead of his previous best of seven in the 2007/08 season.

- The world's greatest footballer continues his fight to reach new highs.  His goal in the Sánchez Pizjuan brings Lionel Messi within just four of the Club's current record holder, the legendary César Rodriguez, who scored a remarkable 235 goals.

- Messi has scored eight in his last three matches and, in just 27 matches played so far, has already equalled last season's tally of 31 league goals.

- Piqué and Mascherano successfully neutralised the attacking threat from Sevilla and won back possession nine times, more than any other player.

- Barça has won three consecutive away games for the first time in the season; in the Sánchez Pizjuán, the New Sardinero and the Vicente Calderon.

- Andrés Iniesta celebrated his fiftieth consecutive league match without a defeat – 42 wins and 8 draws, equalling the record held by former Real Madrid striker Emilio Butragueño.
