Barça will provide seven players for the Spanish squad in Ukraine and Poland after Vicente del Bosque announced his 23-man squad this lunchtime. Valdés, Piqué, Sergio Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, Cesc and Pedro make up the largest number of players from a single club in the Spanish squad.

Pedro wins a place

After a difficult season, marred by injuries, Pedro made the cut for the squad after his great performance on Friday night in the Spanish Cup and will be making his debut in the tournament after missing out in 2008. Keeper Victor Valdés will also be travelling to a European Championships for the first time.

Spain regulars Carles Puyol and David Villa both miss out on the tournament with injuries.

Afellay in Dutch squad

Ibrahim Afellay is the other member of the Barça squad who will be at the tournament, which starts on June 8th, after he was named in Holland’s squad.
