Pedro Rodríguez has played in 4 Champion Leauge campaigns since his debut for the first team in 2008/09, since then he’s scored 11 goals in the European competition. Furthermore, the striker seems to have figured out how to score on Italian teams, specifically, teams from the Lombardy capital; 3 of Pedro's 11 goals were scored against Milan sides.

Against Inter in the group stage

Pedro scored his first goal against a Milan side nearly two years ago, in the return game of the group stage against Inter Milan. Barça was without Messi and Ibrahimovic, and the burden of carrying the Barça attack fell to Pedro. He scored the definitive 2-0 when he volleyed home a cross from Dani Alves. Thanks to Pedro and Piqué, who scored the opener, Barça secured their spot in the round of 16.

. . . and in the semifinals

His second goal against a Milan side was at the Giuseppe Meazza, more commonly known as the San Siro, in the away leg of the Champions League semifinal. Pedro scooped up a cross from Maxwell, who had gone deep into Inter’s area, and fired Barça ahead with his left foot. The game would ended 3-1 in Inter Milan’s favour. Barça nearly overturned the result a week later at the Camp Nou.

Against AC Milan, too

Pedro’s third goal against a Lombardi side was against AC Milan this season. After Pato’s early goal at the Camp Nou, the Barça striker beat Christian Abbiati and drew his team level after a spectacular play from Messi. The game ended in a two-all draw after the Brazilian, Thiago Silva, managed to score in the last minute.

Pedro, fully recovered from the ankle injury he picked up against Granada, is back in the squad. The Barça striker is always a threat to keepers, but against Milan teams he’s more dangerous than usual, tonight he has the opportunity to increase his goal tally against Lombardi sides.
