Since Pep brought him into the first team, Pedro has had a great impact, but injuries have really limited him this season and he admitted: “it’s been a really irregular season with my injuries, but now I’m back, on the pace, getting my confidence back and keen to play . We’re all working to prepare the Final and take the Cup. I’ll continue to work 100% to make the Cup Final”. Pedro is also keen to make the Spanish squad for this summer’s European Championships in Poland and the Ukraine.

Guardiola’s departure is especially sad for Pedro, who was given his big start by the boss and speaking at his press conference after training this lunchtime he said: “I want to thank him for everything he’s taught me and for giving me the chance to live the dream of playing for the first team. I wish him all the best. It was a painful thing for us and nobody expected it, but it’s a decision we have to respect”. Pedro also revealed that the team want to win the Cup in order to” dedicate it to Guardiola Abidal, Villa and Fontàs”.

Pedro was also asked about the appointment of Tito Vilanova and he explained: “it’s great news, we’re right behind him and hope for the best for him. His ideas are very similar to Pep’s. I think it’s good for the team”.

Congratulations to Madrid

Finally, Pedro congratulated Real Madrid who were proclaimed champions after winning at San Mames last night, whilst admitting: “there have been some decisions this season that have harmed us – but that’s got nothing to do with the final result”.
