The stats certainly support the idea that a 1-1 draw away from home in the first leg of a Cup tie is a positive result for Barça, with the team knocked out on just two occasions after similar results and going through in the other five ties.

Seville in 2008

Most recently, in 2008, the team drew 1-1 against Seville at the Sanchez Pijuan, with a goalless draw in the return leg enough to see them into the next round. In 1993, a 1-1 draw in the semi-final at the Bernabeu wasn't enough though, with Madrid eventually going through to the final.

Maybe the most remarkable 1-1 result came in the 1929/30 season, when the game against Betis was abandoned at half time due to crowd trouble. That result stood and in the return game Barça won 2-0 to go through.
