Andrés Iniesta continues to build upon his legendary career. This Sunday, at La Rosaleda, he completed his 384th official match in a Barça jersey, the same amount of games played by Josep Guardiola and Antoni Ramallets. The three players are level in 12th place in the standings of Barça players that have played the most official games for the team.

71 out of 78 passes

The Spaniard drew level with the two iconic Barça players in a game that saw yet another fantastic performance from the midfielder (1-4 against Málaga). Iniesta was the team’s director on the pitch with 71 completed passes out of 78 attempts - he even had a couple of chances to score. He almost opened up the scoring on 6 minutes, but the play didn’t finish in a goal unfortunately. 17 minutes later his shot sailed over the crossbar.

In the second half, Guardiola, with his sights set on Wednesday’s King’s Cup return leg, substituted the midfielder at the 72nd minute mark for Pedro.

Iniesta’s 384 games

Iniesta reached the milestone in his 10th season in FC Barcelona’s first team. His appearances in all competitions are as follows: 274 in the League, 73 in the Champions League, 38 in the Cup, 6 in the Spanish Super Cup, 5 in the Club World Cup, 3 in the UEFA Cup and 2 in the European Super Cup. His goal tally stands at 37.

Iniesta’s next challenge is to equal players like Asensi (394 games), Rifé (397), Alexanko (400) and Segarra (402)
