Right when the team’s play came under scrutiny in the 97/98 season, Barça stamped its authority on the title race with a hard-fought win at the Bernabéu. The Azulgranas were able to overcome Madrid’s initial offensive flurry. The game was an exciting back and forth match that kept supporters of both teams on the edge of their seats. It was an incredible game, where Barça’s keeper Rud Hesp had an extraordinary performance. Barça ended up winning the title with four Liga games still yet to be played.
