The 2003/04 season was in its final stretch and Barça was on good form after a rather disappointing start to the campaign. The famous Madrid side known as the Galacticos lost to Barça at the Santiago Bernabéu in a game that had a very pronounced turning point. Up until Rijkaard subbed in Luis Enrique and Kluivert, Real Madrid controlled the match. Figo’s sending off, after a late tackle on Puyol, spurred Barça to victory. It was Xavi, beautifully assisted by Ronaldinho, that scored the game winning goal. Valencia, however, took the Liga crown that season.
