The 2015/16 season was one replete with success for FC Barcelona, the team winning four trophies: the European Super Cup against Sevilla in Tibilisi, the Club World Cup against River Plate in Yokohama and another league and Copa del Rey double thanks to their victory over Sevilla once again in the Vicente Calderón. Furthermore, the team continues to break records. A run of 39 games without defeat broke the record for a Spanish club, surpassing the previous best set by Leo Beenhakker’s Real Madrid side.

The campaign also saw the famous MSN hit new goalscoring heights, scoring 131 times between them, nine more than last season. Luis Suárez led the way, winning the Golden Shoe award thanks to his total of 40 goals in La Liga 2015/16. The only negatives in the campaign were the defeats against Athletic Club in the Spanish Super Cup and against eventual runners up Atlético Madrid in the Champions League.
