Barça’s U19A side secured an impressive 3-0 victory over Girona thanks to goals from Kike Delgado, Collado and Juan Fernández. Gabri Garcia’s side are clear at the top of the table thanks to this win against the team who were in first place. The blaugranas now have 17 points and are one point ahead of Girona.

The first half started in the best way possible for the blaugranas as they counter-attacked rapidly after 50 seconds with Juan Fernández assisting Kike Delgado for the opener. The early strike gave the home side extra motivation and they went on to dominate the ball and control the first half.

They created plenty of chances and Riqui Puig went close to scoring the second with a shot which whistled past the post in the 18th minute. Their persistence paid off with a move down the left ending with a cross from Alfonso which Collado finished with an excellent header into the back of the net. The goal put Barça 2-0 up after 36 minutes. Just before the break, Collado could have scored the third following a great team move but his shot was saved spectacularly by Torra in the Girona goal.

In the second half, the blaugranas kept on going and they went close again through Delgado who hit the side netting after another lightning counter in the 69th minute. Six minutes later, Riqui passed into space and Juan Fernández went through on goal. Barça’s number ‘9’ made no mistake to score the third and final goal of the match. The win was a crucial and thoroughly deserved one which puts them top of the table.
