An emotional tribute to Johan Cruyff. The FC Barcelona academy teams rendered homage to the Barça legend in their own particular way by respecting a minute’s silence and wearing black armbands in their games on Thursday, with a number 14 shirt honouring the loss of the great Dutch player and manager, for whom it all started with the Liga 1973-74 victory, and who went on to lead the Dream Team as manager to four consectuiove league titles and the first European Cup in 1992.

The U12, U14 and U16 teams honoured Cruyff at the MIC Tournament matches played in Vidreres, Platja d’Aro and Begur. The U10 team observed a minute of silence before their two games in the Íscar Cup LaLiga Promisesin Pedrajas de San Esteban and Íscar, where a banner was added to the advertising hoardings with the words “Thank you Johan, we all learned from you” and the player of the tournament has been named in honour of the great man.

The U16 B and U12 D teams did likewise at the Menorca CUP 2016 in Bintaufa and Es Castell and there were also moments of silence before the games in the U10 Desafio Cup in Guijuelo (Salamanca) and for the U12 B team in their game against Juventus at anb international tournament in Portugal.

Barça youth teams playing at tournaments in Dublin, Vila de Peralada and Castellon will also be respecting the memory of Johan Cruyff in their games on Friday.
