FC Barcelona B are enjoying their best run of the campaign with five straight victories which has lifted Gerard López’s to ninth in the table.
The reserves have also not conceded a single goal during their streak, something which has not been achieved since the 2004/05 campaign. On that occasion, however, the team managed by Pere Gratacós did so through four goalless draws and one victory.
The excellent recent form is as much down to a potent attacking force as it is a sturdy back line. Goalkeeper Ortolá and defenders Palencia, Tarín, Gumbau and Moisés have helped the team go on a run of 502 minutes without letting in a goal.
Barça B have the fifth best defence in the league, level with current leaders Villarreal B (23). Only Lleida, Alcoyano, Reus and Hércules have conceded fewer.
The reserve side take on Atlético Levante at home on Saturday, where they will be intent on extending their winning run.
