Barça B celebrating a goal this season / VÍCTOR SALGADO - FCB

Barça B continue their excellent vein of form with a fifth successive win, beating Hércules 2-0 away from home in the Rico Pérez stadium. Gerard López’s team were not put off by the opposition, the strong winds in Alicante nor bring reduced to 10 men in after just 10 minutes of the second half after Rodri Tarín was given his marching orders. The win came courtesy of a strike from Perea and an own goal from Atienza. The three points allow the B side to keep moving up the table in the Second Division B Group B.

Early on in the game Fali went close to opening the scoring for the visitors against Hércules. Nevertheless, it was Alberto Perea who opened the scoring with a great free kick to beat goalkeeper Chema. That was his first goal since joining the club and it was vital one, allowing Barça B to sit back and neutralize Hércules. The second came before the break when Atienza turned the ball past his own keeper just minutes away from half time. Hércules almost pulled one back but Ortolà was there to deny Javi Flores with an excellent save.

In the second half Perea almost created a third for Barça but Dani Romera’s shot flew just wide. After 10 minutes the home side were given a chance to get back into the game when Rodri Tarín was given his marching orders. Nevertheless, Gerard López’s team remained organized in defence and despite almost constant pressure from the home side, Barça held on for a fifth win in a row that lifts them to ninth place in the table.
