Barça B claim Trofeu Vila de Llagostera / EDDY KELELE

Barça B have maintained their excellent pre-season form with a 1-1 draw against a side from the Division above away from home. The result comes on the back of four successive wins against Navata, l'Escala, Terrassa and Horta. The side coached by Gerard López came out on top following a penalty shoot out against Llagostera in Palamós which was enough to claim the Trofeu Vila preseason title.

The first half was notable for the scarcity of clear cut chances. In the opening minutes Barça had an opportunity with Grimaldo bringing a good save from Llagostera keeper Ratti. The home side had their best chance some seven minutes before the break when Benja struck the crossbar. López's team suffered a blow before half time when influential midfielder Sergi Samper was forced off due to injury.

In the second half the rhythm of the game increased and both sides were more adventurous coming forward. The persistent rain made conditions difficult for both sides but it was the home team who struck first, Juanto beating Barça keeper Ondoa from Pitu's free kick just before the hour mark. The lead lasted just 12 minutes with Jean-Marie Dongou finding the net for the fourth time in pre-season. The Cameroonian controlled a cross from Aitor and then fired home via a deflection to make it 1-1. The full time whistle came and took the game into a penalty shoot-out. Barça came out on top, scoring four from five spot kicks, Godswill marking his comeback after injury with a well taken effort to help his team to victory.
