Barça B’s new coach is one who knows FC Barcelona inside out. Gerard López Segú comes to the job with the aim of returning the team to the Second Division A and he has his experience with Barça to help him in the task. The man from Granollers in Catalonia is in his third spell with the Club following seven seasons in the youth football set up and five years with the first team. After a spell at Valencia, Gerard López came back to FC Barcelona as a 21 year old with plenty of experience in the first division.

He was a member of the first team from the year 2000 until 2005, five seasons in which he played 140 official matches in which he scored 10 goals. Always wearing the number 14, Gerard López was known for his ability to get into the box from midfield and his prowess in the air. Now, as a coach, he will try to use his experience in the youth set up from his playing days to help the B squad reach their objective.
