Cámara scored Barça B's second goal of the game / MIGUEL RUIZ FCB

Barça B have gone down 4-2 to Eldense in their last game of 2015, and will end the year in 17th place in Division 2B. That’s pending the outcome of Olímpic Xàtiva’s game on Sunday, the same side that Barça B will face in their first game at the Miniestadi after the Christmas break.

With Carles Aleñá in the starting XI for the first time, and following the initial exchanges, Grimaldo came close, but the home keeper made a fine save, shortly before the Valencians hit the post at the other end.

But Eldense had more fortune the next time they caused danger, a move that ended with Robert Costa putting the ball in his own net. Barça B battled hard to get back into things, and were rewarded when Aleñá slammed a fine goal to the right of the home keeper.

Fine visiting attack and equally fine home defending was the tonic of the second half, but on one of their few forays into the Catalan half, Eldense were able to score from a corner and move back into the lead.

Gerard López sent on the U19 team's Theo Chendri for his Barça B debut, but that did nothing to change things, for Eldense were soon 3-1 up. Cámara managed to pull one back, beating his defender well and then positioning his shot to perfection.

Suddenly there was hope of a comeback. But during a late surge in search of an equaliser, Barça keeper Ortolá moved upfield to take a free-kick. That allowed the home side to run through and score right on the final whistle and confirm a disappointing end to the year for the Barça reserves.
