Barça B opened in Group Three of the Second Division B with a 2–1 defeat at Cornellà after tying the match during a very good second half showing. But Cornellà managed to swipe all three points thanks to a penalty kick in the final minute of play.

The hosts opened the scoring in the opening minute when a throw-in ended up with Dani Martí banging the ball into the back of the net, forcing Barça B to play from behind during the entire first half. Led by first year coach Gerard López, the Catalans came close to knotting the game up with a pair of first-half chances, but Dongou had a shot saved by goalkeeper Marcos Pérez and shortly after Grimaldo's long-range attempt clipped the outside of the post.

Barça react

Barça B were far superior in the second half by dominating the possession game and on 54 minutes Dongou finally broke through for the first blaugrana goal of the season following a long precision pass from Babunksi from midfield that Dongou finished with aplomb to tie the game.

But just when it seemed both teams would walk away with a point, and even though Barça were seriously threatening in the final minutes, an injury-time foul by Robert Costa on Oscar Muñoz in the Cornellà area was whsitled by the referee and Muñoz nailed the spot kick to give his team the 2–1 win.
