FC Barcelona v CD Mirandés: Unrewarded creativity (1-3)

El domini del filial donaria l’empat a la segona part amb una diana de Dongou. Malauradament, els dos gols de Pedro i Urko Vera als últims vint minuts han desmuntat el joc del filial.

Barça B have lost 3-1 at home to Mirandés in a game they probably deserved to win.

The Catalans got off to what looked like a fine start, creating plenty of danger, but then Mirandés struck after 13 minutes when a Carnicer corner was headed home at the far post by Urko Vera.

Sandro almost replied immediately also from a corner, then Dongou gifted Halilovic a perfect chance that visiting keeper Razak did well to save, and Sandro had a second chance to score that went narrowly wide.

Barça B controlled the rest of the half, confusing the opposition with rapid switches between Sandro and Adama, and producing intricate combination plays, such as one in the 31st minute involving Halilovic, Dongou and Sandro that the latter very nearly converted. Adama also had a fine shot from the left, but the second half ended with no further score.

Late tragedy

The reserves kept pushing in the second half, and finally got their equaliser after 52 minutes when Samper pounced on the rebound after Sandro had shot, and set up Dongou to tap the ball home.

Everything was going back according to plan, and after doing very little since their opening goal, Mirandés hit back. Pedro Marín picked up the ball in the area and fired home, leaving Ortolá with no chance. Barça B didn’t through in the towel, and Sandro, Adama and Halilovic all had chances before Urko Vera finished off a frustrating evening by making it 3-1. Once again, the failure to finish off chances proved costly at the Miniestadi and a home fixture was lost when it could so easily have been won.
