Munir El Haddadi signed an updated contract on Tuesday afternoon in which his release clause, in accordance with the new agreement, rises to some 35 million Euros.

The signing took place at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper and also present were the Sporting vice president Jordi Mestre and Director of Football Andoni Zubizarreta.

2014 has very much been Munir’s year. He was a key part of the U19 squad that won the inaugural UEFA Youth League, scoring a brilliant goal in the final. Just a few months later the striker found himself selected for the first team during preseason under new coach Luis Enrique. Since then he has been a constant presence in the first team’s training sessions and in the match day squad. He scored on his debut against Elche and he was even called up by national coach Vicente del Bosque, making his full debut in the game against Macedonia.
