Barça B got a third consecutive win in the league, but a game that looked done and dusted ended up being a close call in Vitoria.

The reserves looked well in command in the first half. Joan Román converted an Adama assist to put them one ahead and in the 39th minute Adama featured in another goal. This time his cross was deflected by Manu into his own net. And before the break, Grimaldo sent home an impeccable free kick to make it 3-0.

But the second half produced a remarkable turnaround in affairs. After a torrid first 45 minutes, Alavés suddenly sprung to life, although it wasn’t until the 73rd minute that they finally found the net through Toti. Boosted by the goal, it wasn’t long before Juli has narrowed the gap to one.

Barça B had lost all control of the game, and were pardoned with minutes to go when Juli missed a penalty. It had been a close shave, but they finally came away with their first points on the road this season. Next week at the Miniestadi, there’s a Catalan derby against Llagostera, the village team that has caused an absolute sensation by rising to the second tier of Spanish football.
