The Blaugrana were defeated in the miniclásico after they had taken the lead through a strike from Denis Suárez. Real Madrid fired back thanks to goals scored by Burigui, Aguza and Mascarell (p).

Mutual Respect

Real Madrid were more intense at the start of the match but Masip responded well with a fantastic save just after the starting whistle. The Blaugrana slowly got themselves into the game even though they didn’t have the initiative.

The team managed by Eusebio tried to break through Madrid’s defensive lines with Adama’s incursions down the right wing, but the Cameroonian was unable to link up with his teammates in the area.

Barça take the lead

Denis Suárez fired Barça ahead when he shot to the far post of Pacheco’s goal (min 35). But Barça B’s joy didn’t last long seeing that a minute later a shot from Burgui ended up in the back of the net of Masip’s goal. Just before the break, Aguza headed the ball past Masip to make it 2-1.

Third and final goal

Denis Suárez nearly made it level at the start of the second half, but his attempt was saved. The following play led to Madrid’s third goal. Bedia attempted to intercept a cross from the left wing, but the ball rebounded and hit his hands. The referee pointed to the spot and Mascarell made it 3-1.
