The 24-year-old midfielder arrives to Barça B from Hércules. Bedia will sign a two-year contract, and his buy out clause will be set at 12 million euros

FC Barcelona have agreed to sign Edu Bedia, who will play Barça B for the next  two seasons. The player, born in Santander, arrives to Barcelona as a free agent from Hércules. His buy out clause is set at 12 million euros.

Trajectory in Santander

The 24-year-old played for Hércules last season, after signing from Racing Santander. He made 33 appearances for the Alicante-based team (31 as a starter) and he scored 5 goals. In 2008 he signed his first professional contract, after nine years in Racing’s youth system. But he spent a large portion of 2009 on the sidelines due to a serious knee injury.

The midfielder completely recovered from his injury and spent the next three seasons playing for the senior side. In the 2010/11 season, he was loaned to Salamanca, where he played 15 matches and scored 2 goals. He returned to Racing the following year, and in the 2012/13 season he made the leap to Hércules.
