Barça B won their second consecutive match at the Miniestadi this Sunday on week 31 of the Liga Adelante. The youngsters managed by Eusebio Sacristán overturned Alcoyano’s initial goal through strikes from Rodri and Doungou. It was the Cameroonian’s his first goal for the Barça B side. Jordi Mestre, Carles Rexach and the ex-Chelsea manager André Villas Boas watched the match from the Miniestadi’s stands.

Azulgrana chances

The game started with Barça B well positioned on the pitch as they looked to retain possession and threaten the opposing keeper’s goal. The first chance for the Barça B side fell to Kiko Femenía after a great pass from Jonathan dos Santos, but the Alcoyano keeper did well to save the attempt.

Despite the opportunity to score, the Azulgranas weren’t comfortable on the pitch, as time went on the visitors took control of the match and scored the opener. Gato managed to get a one-on-one against Oier and he wasn’t forgiving as he slotted his shot into the back of the net. The Barça reserve side reacted, and on 22 minutes Rodri brought the Catalans level with a shot from the right side of the area after a splendid pass from Gerard Deulofeu.

The goal injected life into the Barça B side, who had plenty of chances to go ahead. Deulofeu came close on the 29th minute. The player skipped past his mark and shot on goal, but the ball was deflected to a corner. Deulofeu, having a great game on the right wing in the first half, had the chance to score again after a good pass from Femenía on the left wing, but his shot went high. After a couple of very good chances for Barça, the referee signaled that the first half was over.

Doungou makes it 2-1

Lobato came on for Sergi Gómez, who couldn’t continue due to injury, at the start of the second half. The second half was intense to the team led by Sacristán. Sergi Roberto had a clear chance in the first minute but Dorronsoro saved the shot. However, the next minutes saw both team settle into the game and neither side created goalscoring opportunities. It was time for Dongou to come out onto the pitch. The Cameroonian scored the winner after an assist from Femenía right after being subbed in. It was his first goal for Barça B, an incredibly important goal for the reserve side.

Barça B will try to continue their string of good results next week against Nàstic.
